Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Todd marriage 2 February 1957 – 22 March 1958 "He didn't ask me, he told me," Taylor recalled of his marriage proposal in Elizabeth Takes Off. Todd -- who was 25 years older than Taylor -- fathered a daughter, Liza, in 1957. One year into their marriage, Todd died in a plane crash.
