Walken in a Winter Wonderland

Walken in a Winter Wonderland

CHRISTOPHER WALKEN is convinced the world of show business would be a better place if actors were cats. The star insists the furry felines are much more  expressive than human beings - as they can show a broad range of emotions just  through their tails. He says, "A tail is so expressive. On a cat you can tell if they're
annoyed. You can tell whether they are scared. They bush their tail."

Walken also promotes the proper treatment of cats and even penned a foreword to a book on cat care.

Cats and Dogs

At Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in Old Windsor, UK, two lonely baby animals have adopted each other. They have become such close friends that they treat each other like sisters.

The kitten, named Kitty, was found abandoned in a garden when she was only one day old. Buttons, the puppy, was the runt of her litter, and was unfortunately rejected by her mother. Normally, the two of them would be hand-reared separately … but because of their very young ages, the center decided to try raising them together.

Over 12,000 years ago, up until 1936, Thylacines once ruled and roamed Australia and Tasmania

The thylacine was the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times. It is commonly known as the Tasmanian tiger or the Tasmanian wolf.

PANTHER'S SURPRISE

A cat has absolute emotional honesty: human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not. - Ernest Hemingway

Corgi and Bess

Corgi star of opening ceremony dies.  The palace confirmed the death of Monty and of Cider, a dorgi, or dachsund-corgi cross-breed yesterday.

At present the Queen owns two dorgis called Candy and Vulcan and two other Pembroke Welsh corgis called Willow and Holly, who are all descended from a dog she was given for her 18th birthday, who was called Susan.  Watch the Olympic video starring the Corgis

"The dachshund was evolved to chase badgers down holes, and the corgi to round up cattle.  If anyone loses a herd of cattle down a badger hole, then these are just the dogs to get them out."
